Default Verizon - No Consistency of Release Plan

Please Login to Remove!

I just found out that each store has been allowed their own release plans for the phone. Some store are first come, first served. Others have a reservation list. What I am frustrated about is the fact that I was originally told I'm on a waiting list to be #12 in line, and then the next week they changed their tune to first come, first served. Verizon has done a piss poor job with this whole launch and as a long time customer, I am pretty pissed off about it!

Personally I think it's the store's prerogative to sell the phone how they want.

It is unfortunate that your store suddenly decided to change in a way that would put you at a disadvantage.

Sure, each company such as Best Buy, Verizon or whomever should be allowed to sell how they want. But when VZW stores are taking their own leads, that is a problem for me.

i work for an indirect retailer and we're doin the waiting list, also upgrade customers have to wait because our primary concern is to get new lines. dont really agree with that approach though. each store will do it in a way thats going to work towards their advantage

I work for a VZW retailer too. We gladly took down names and numbers of people who wanted to get the Storm and called them in order when the phones came in, but people who physically walked in the store first got their phone first (that is, we wouldn't reserve the phones). The problem with reserving the phones is that about 50% of people never come in to pick them up! Which sucks for people who are in the store, right NOW, to buy.

Angry Verizon/ Alltel

I went into my alltel store this morning to see about exchange of my wifes 8130. There is a problem with the buttons not working. The sales lady told me they couldn't do anything because they were switching to Verizon wireless. They can't do anything with their computer for the next 5 days while switching. I am not looking forward to Verizon wireless taking over!
