Default Bold keyboard HARDER to use than the new Curve 8900?

Please Login to Remove!

I was shopping for the Bold, but found initially that the keys felt harder to type quickly on.

1) They touch one another (vs the curve where they are separated) and so you can accidentally hit the wrong key

Is this just something that you quickly get used to?

2) Sometimes when you type fast, it skips keys.

Is this due to old software on the machine in the ATT store?

I haven't seen any reviews stating that the Bold keys are actually harder to use than the Curve, so wanted to know if my initial experience is correct or not.

Thanks for any feedback.

I used a bold keyboard I didn't find it to hard to type on. But I prefer the curve keyboard.

the 8900 keyboard is based roughly on the 8300 keyboard. the bold keyboard is based roughly on the 8800 keyboard. It's a matter of preference, really. I find it harder to type on the 8800/bold.

I have both and I find that the fret like keys of the Bold do tend to mess up. This is due to of course how I type. Others might not have any problem at all. As for the missing key presses I did find that happened a lot until I upgraded the OS to the most recent and it seems to have gone away. It is totally user based and everyone will give you a different answer. I personally love the curve keyboard for functionality but the bold for its appeal.

no, your not alone. i had a bold and had the same issue with typing. it took a while but i never got as good on the bold as i did on my curve.

I'm a little partial to my 8820, so I like the Bold keys better although I tend to notice more mistakes on the Bold and 8820 keys than the Curve's keys. Meh. I still type somewhat fast so itz all good.

Coming from a curve, its a matter of getting used to it.

I find the Bold keys easier to type on. I understand the "based on the 88xx" generality, but I had made a month long attempt to use an 8800 and it didn't work out.

I think that each device is good and it really depends on your preference. The tactile feel of a keyboard is VERY subjective. To each his own.
