I don't work for google... I personally I'm not a fan of the Cloud movement, but I am aware of it's advantages and growth.

With less than %20 of RIM's revenue coming from BES... the rest from devices, it means atleast %50 of it's revenue are from people(BIS) that aren't that worried about security as top corporate or government etc... means %50 of the market could go to Apple, Google etc without feeling obliged to be on BES..

I think since 2006 since the Pearl, RIM has left the core security conscious audience as it's main bread winner

Android keeps getting better and better! I have many doctor friends who do ALOT of work on little apps for doctors on their Iphones. I used to think Iphones were only for kids. Doctors using them!!! For surgery calculations!!! CRAZY!!! (isn't it a kids phone?)

I think the Android OS has alot of potential! Blackberry really needs to ramp up or lose market share.

I didn't get an Iphone because I don't want to be one of the sheep...I just use an Itouch for the apps and music.

Google Apps in government will either go away or become a paid service when there is the first major security breach.

I cannot see any agency that is really concerned about the security of its data running apps in the cloud. Makes no sense to me.

I've had doctors request the iphone because of the apps, and all I can think is "Why do you need to rely on an app to do your job?" Shouldn't they have the equipment and resources to do this without the aid of a phone?

I'm a carpenter, should have to do my job without my BB, ConstructionMaster calculator, and Laser measurer? Carpenters did without these things for centuries...

Technology is part of our daily lives. It makes lots of our jobs a lot easier...

And the Nexus one is the first phone to really make me think twice about moving to a different platform...

My boyfriend is a carpenter, he uses regular tools of the trade to build houses, not his phone.

It must make it easier for some people, but I doubt anyone would care for something like that on their jobsite, when what they have now works perfectly fine.

It depends on their job within the organization. I can understand a foreman having and making good use of a smartphone, but not a laborer.

Bingo. I never would have guessed how handy being able to email pictures of stuff would be. Plus I do a lot of business communication via email. Less disruption to my day to be able to return emails when I take a break than getting calls when I'm busy.

Plus homeowners love updates when they are at their desk at work, and I've been told pictures are worth a thousand words... And happy homeowners call you back, and refer you.

I do see that being a handy tool in that sense then, Dylan's boss does have a blackberry as well. He will use it for emailing and keeping in touch with other's on different sites to give them instructions. My boyfriend only uses his camera to take pictures of blue prints, for no other reason than the fact he can, haha.

I guess I'm old fashioned, but the idea of an app doing the job for you just boggles my mind. It's the doctor one that get's me, I don't know how I'd feel if my doctor had to rely on a phone to treat me. But doctors also have to rely on machines and medical equipment as well, and I guess if a phone helps with that then it would be okay..

I have to think more of this, I definately appreciate the different opinions

I will say when some of the stuff I use on a daily basis came out I didn't see any use for it. I never thought I'd use a Blackberry. But I wouldn't want to run my business without it now. It saves so much time, and has so much info right there at my fingertips.
