I have been trying for 2 weeks now to try and reinstall BBMessenger to my Curve 8310. The smiley face that shows you have a BBmessage pending would not go away even though i did not have any BBmesseges or conversations open. I tried a battery pull and still it would not go away. So after a week, I went in to my applications on my phone and deleted it, thinking I could go home later and download it from my pc and re load it to my phone through Desktop Manager. I was wrong. Its been several weeks now without BBMessenger and its really annoying.

It says, before you download:

"Important: BlackBerry Messenger is only available for Java based BlackBerry devices. Your BlackBerry device must connect to your computer via USB in order to download BlackBerry Messenger and must have BlackBerry Device Software version 3.6 or higher installed. In order to download BlackBerry Messenger over-the-air (OTA) your BlackBerry device must have BlackBerry Device Software version 3.7.x or higher installed and 16 MB flash memory or higher."

I recieve this message from blackberry.com when i try to download it:

"Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry Messenger."

Somebody Please help. Ive tried everything.

Not everything!

td, you cannot download it "directly" to your BB, you install it as part of your Operating System.

You must install bbmessenger from the handheld software using app loader.

JSanders is correct, I tried several times myself, before realizing it came with the OS

The problem is, I can not download the app BBMessenger. I have no trouble going through DM. But I cant even download the app.

You install it from the handheld software (the OS software you install on PC). You do not download bbmessenger.

can't do that, on 4.2+ devices.

1. Determine your specific OS version by looking in Options >About.

v4.2.2.170 (platform 2.5.0.30) (ive deleted and reinstalled several times)

2. Download and install the latest Desktop Manager 4.2 from here.

i have 4.3 (ive deleted and reinstalled several times)

DOING THIS DOES NOT GIVE ME THE BBMESSENGER APP.
