No rumors though...
huh? the last two units released by vzw are the storm, which had no predecessor, and the curve, which took over a year to release after the gsm curve was out. I would love to see the 8900 on vzw TODAY, but I'm being realistic too.

I am debating if I should go get an 8330 from an outside source and preserve my two year benefits with my carrier.

I don't know if I'm right, but it seems that most phones are developed and released first on GSM standards then re-vamped for cdma. I guess beacuse the gsm has a larger user base world wide? So in order to get in the largest market cell manufactorers concentrate there? The Storm being an excpetion to the rule maybe?

Well the 8900 phones are out. I guess we have to rely on a timeline for 8930.

Yeah I had seen posts about them. I guess the ones that are out are on the GSM standard.

Not really talking about upgrades to previous units. Verizon has release new BlackBerries about every 6 months since I got my first 7250 with them. I think early on there was more time between them, but from the 7130 on up it has been around that long between each release.

And yes, other than the Storm, GSM always seems to be first.

I will jump on an 8900, but after playing around with a Storm, I know it is NOT for me.

Ah, gotcha. But according to that, I would think the CDMA Bold equivalent will come around June, then the CDMA 8900 would be December.

I think the 9030 "Bold" will come first. A sales rep told me in may for the 9030.

Are either of the CDMA revamps of the Bold or New Curve rumored to be world phones?

Haven't heard anything like that yet, althought It would make sense..

I'm kinda they follow the same path as the 8330 and bump up the onboard memory lol. (more the merrier, right)

I hope it will be a world phone, it's so useful when you travel in Europe to get your emails.

The next BB for Verizon is going to be the BlackBerry 9630, not 8930 or 9030. It will be a Verizon World Edition with support for CDMA 1x, EV-DO Rev. A, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and UMTS. Though the UMTS band will probably be 2100MHz only.

My guess is probably May or June if it gets pushed back. Thats not official or anything but I feel pretty confident it will be out then. Oh and 9630 is the "Niagara".

It will be my next phone. I'm ready for something new. I've had the 8830 for a year and half now.

I am looking forward to it as well. Glad I did not go for the Storm.

I had the Storm ordered and then backed out. Gotta have a physical keyboard.
