This is great because I just swapped. I sold my PC and am getting a MacBook Pro Wednesday. I'm nervous about making such a jump (instead of having both platforms), so I need forums like this.

I am in this same situation with a slight twist. I am actually looking to get a Mac notebook within the next year (sometime in 2007) as I have almost paid off my current Windows PC. Spent $2300 USD for the PC, and I can't remember what I paid for the POS CD-DVD ROM drive that doesn't work worth a flip anymore
I am just curious about the Mac OS. I know about PocketMac and all of the other programs I will need to make the setup work but I would like feedback on WHICH Mac notebook to get based on the following:
1) College student needing to do work without my pc crashing (my Windows notebook has been randomly rebooting itself then getting a message about recovering from a system error and corrupt files although I can't figure out which ones it's talking about).
2) Got fed up with having to call other Mac users complaining that I cannot open file attachments or pictures on cds with my Windows based PC.
3) Can't afford to spend my entire checking account or put another $2K on my credit card.
4) I know I will still need the PC in order to download and install programs (unless this changes before I get the Mac). I have no interest in using the BB for a modem.
Any suggestions? I am looking at the MacBook (or MacBook Pro) and want to know what everyone is currently using.
I am currently using a 1 year old Acer TravelMate C110 running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 Version 2002 SP2. Intel Pentium Mobile Centrino 1.10 GHz processor, 594 MHz, 504 MB RAM. LOL I'm using a T-Mobile 7105t 4.1 OS.
