Great idea. I'm not a Mac user, but I can see this being a much-appreciated forum.

Way to go!

First Post, but this is great as I had been searching and lurking for Mac related answers. Now this sub forum has answered my requirements perfectly.

I just joined the BB crowd after a long debate with a business partner. I have a G3 iMac running 10.4.5 and an HP 530N. I own a BB 8700r and a Sony Clie NX-70V with lots of apps. With the free Pocketmac I had my 700 contacts and 10 years worth of Calender synced through Entourage in less than 24 hours.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

This is great because I just swapped. I sold my PC and am getting a MacBook Pro Wednesday. I'm nervous about making such a jump (instead of having both platforms), so I need forums like this.

You will be just fine. It might take a second to learn to navigate the OS but once you do you'll enjoy it. Just hang in there during the transitional period. Make sure you download pocketmac so you can sync your BB.

Default A bit late, maybe?

This forum is *exactly* what I've been looking for! Thanks.

I'm a long-time Mac freak with a new BB7290 [I started cheap, what can I say?] and things are going smoothly so far.

Nice to know there's a place to get answers.

Peace,

What a great find this site is and a Mac-specific forum is a priceless bonus.

Thanks!

I am in this same situation with a slight twist. I am actually looking to get a Mac notebook within the next year (sometime in 2007) as I have almost paid off my current Windows PC. Spent $2300 USD for the PC, and I can't remember what I paid for the POS CD-DVD ROM drive that doesn't work worth a flip anymore

I am just curious about the Mac OS. I know about PocketMac and all of the other programs I will need to make the setup work but I would like feedback on WHICH Mac notebook to get based on the following:

1) College student needing to do work without my pc crashing (my Windows notebook has been randomly rebooting itself then getting a message about recovering from a system error and corrupt files although I can't figure out which ones it's talking about).

2) Got fed up with having to call other Mac users complaining that I cannot open file attachments or pictures on cds with my Windows based PC.

3) Can't afford to spend my entire checking account or put another $2K on my credit card.

4) I know I will still need the PC in order to download and install programs (unless this changes before I get the Mac). I have no interest in using the BB for a modem.

Any suggestions? I am looking at the MacBook (or MacBook Pro) and want to know what everyone is currently using.

I am currently using a 1 year old Acer TravelMate C110 running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 Version 2002 SP2. Intel Pentium Mobile Centrino 1.10 GHz processor, 594 MHz, 504 MB RAM. LOL I'm using a T-Mobile 7105t 4.1 OS.
