I have a new pioneer car stereo and the bluetooth adapter that they just released for it. I can get my 7100i to connect to the unit and make and answer phone calls but it doesnt work with direct connect. I didnt know what to expect with that feature, but its essentially unusable when its paired with the stereo. The phone will beep if someone calls me, but I dont get any voice over the phone or the car speakers, I can press the button and beep back, but if I talk into the phone or into the stereo microphone they cant hear anything.

Is there a way to make bluetooth active for phone calls only or is it all or nothing?

I have this question too. My i870 on Nextel worked my Car's handsfree with Direct Connect. I had to press the button to speak but it did go over the car's speakers.

Does the 7100i not do this?

As a follow up. My Direct Connect does not even work with the handset when connected to the Car Kit in my Infiniti M45.

Same with me, I have to un-pair the phone from the car kit to use direct connect.

Anyone know anything about this??

Actually, I had a visor mounted Bluetooth Handsfree Kit I bought from Target. I can't remember the Brand name, but it did work with Direct Connect on my 7100i.
