Default 1-888-bestbuy

Please Login to Remove!

So I'm in Best Buy the other day, and I had to get some gift cards replaced. The customer service rep gave me what I needed and told me to call 1-888-BESTBUY to finish up what I needed to.

I start to walk out of the store, look down to dial the phone, and have this blank look on my face. I felt so dumb going back to her and asking her what those numbers correspond to, as I didn't have those numbers on my Pearl.

Just a little chuckle for the day.

If you hold down the alt button while dialing, you can type letters and the phone will convert to the right numbers.

I know that, but I felt like an idiot cuz I didn't know what letters corresponded to what number on a normal keypad.

That shit is confusing though, how do you do it? I do the alt thing and hit the number five key and only G comes out, I try the double tap and 2 G's come out. What do I do to get the H?

You don't have to know, the blackberry's software will automatically translate them to the correct number.

I died laughing, but had to try it myself, and it did the same thing.

I noticed that when I tried to call southwest airlines, you know, 800iflysaw, I tried the ALT thing and it gave me the wrong number.

This is interesting (and pretty funny too).

I guess this means get the number, or know your standard keypad/letter combos (which I do VERY well from years using T9 on my moto phones).

It does work. While in the phone screen, the input changes to multi-tap. So if you want to type a "Y" press alt and the "TY" key twice.

i was worried about everyone in here but im glad the two guys above me know how to do it.. yeah its like typing in a password it switches to ABC mode and you have to multi-tap in best buy or whatever... off topic i remember a comedian named Mitch Headburg says he like calling those numbers even when there too long like 1-800-i-love-sleeping-on-soft-mattresses
