Default Password protecting entire device without typing password everytime to unlock keys?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I haven't found it anywhere on the forum, so I'm making my own.

I'm just wondering if there's a way to password protect the entire device without having to type the password everytime to unlock the keys? I lock the keys everytime I put my phone in my pocket, and it time consuming having to type the password everytime I need to use it. Is there a way to make it so I only need to type the password when I turn the phone on? Thanks!

Nope.
The password must have a timeout set.

Nope, not if you want the password protection.

One of those things that you can't have it both ways.

That's too bad! I was used to my Sony Ericsson... Oh well, maybe I'll risk having my phone unprotected... At least I'm able to do it with my SIM card...

You can set the security time out up to 30 minutes and change the lock handheld upon holstering to No. This may help a little bit.

Use an easy-to-type password like KLKL. Its just as easy to type in quickly as * + Send.

Sure its easy for a real hacker to crack but the average person that picks up your phone won't try it.

Also, in Options > Security Options > General Settings, you can change the Allow Phone Calls While Locked option. This will add a Place Call button to the unlock screen and let you do that without typing your password.

Maybe it's different on the bold, but with a curve you can just hold down the mute key. just hit mute again to "unlock" it. no password needed for me this way.

I think you misunderstood the thread. The OP wants to use a password.

Actually the maximum is 60 minutes. If your connected to a BES serve your IT policy may have reduced your maximum if specified.
