I have Ramble on my BB 7520 and I have to say that for connectivity and reliability it is the best free app I have seen. i do have a problem with the lack of aliases, however. I log into Ramble with my ICQ number and only get the ICQ numbers of my buddy list, not the Alias name. Is there any way to get around this? If not, I would like to add it to the Requested list.

The 0.9.6.2 release basically works for me, but I have encountered some problems. They are:

Get user info always returns a 404 error; I've never seen it work.

There is no way to query WHAT the user's away message is when they show as away. (perhaps this would be part of the user info if that worked?)

Add new buddy doesn't work - it doesn't give any error, but it doesn't actually add the buddy to the list, either. Adding buddies from a computer client works as expected.

Many features - including *exit* - are apparently not available from the initial pre-login menu. If I start the application, I cannot exit it without logging in and then logging out again.

That's about it. Overall it's great; if you're looking to make some bugfixes, the above are what I'd like to see. Thanks!

for some reason ramble stopped working for me 2 days ago. all i get are "reason unknown error code 989" or sometimes "bad dns address" i unloaded the software and redownloaded it again but it still won't work for me. all the reboots in the world won't fix this.

This one has been discussed on this or another thread. Hopefully it'll get fixed in the upcoming release.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7520/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.12)

Ignore my post above. Apparently ramble doesn't want to work with my orange theme but works with the vodaphone theme

I downloaded ramble yesterday and am trying to log on today and it's not logging in. It says "logging in. Please wait" but does nothing. I have T-Mobile 7290 No BES.

I've had success with Ramble for nearly a month. This morning I am also receiving the same thing as you are, "Loggin In, Please Wait." It just hangs on that prompt.

I have a 7100T, No BES

It had been working good for a week, then all of a sudden I get a "Connection : Null" Error when I tried to log in. I deleted and downloaded ramble again and now it stays on the "Logging In, Please Wait" like the others. Im using a 7250 with Ramble v. 0.9.6.2

I have the same problem. I am on TMO with a 7230. I wonder if TMO is doing something to block it. Also another time I had the same problem and it would not work in NYC where I work, but worked in NJ. Not sure if there is anything with the location.

Hello,

We apologize for the delay in responding to your concern about Ramble IM and its inability to connect to your AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) account. We have been troubleshooting this problem and have found that AOL itself seems to be experiencing a very particular problem with the type of connection Ramble IM and other systems, like AOL's own Quick Buddy, use to log in and use AIM. The issue is not with Ramble, BlackBerry or with your wireless carrier (like Nextel, Verizon Wireless or Cingular). We have contacted AOL and submitted a troubleticket for resolution. There is no current estimated time to resolution.

Thank you for your patience and use of Ramble IM. We will inform you once the situation has been resolved.

Jean-Paul

I have 7250 on Verizon and Ramble has worked fine for me. I have only had a few times it wouldn't log on. Now, I have been getting the "logging on, wait" message for more than a week. I miss my Ramble. I don't use corporate system so I can't use the other products. I'm not willing to pay a service each month to be able to send IM's. Having IM and access to my AOL mail when I want is the only thing I do miss from palm os. The always on push is great, but I do like having the other perks from the palm os version of AOL and IM. I will feel much better when Ramble starts working again, I miss my Ramble.
