We recently switched our website host to GoDaddy.com. After switching to GoDaddy, we haven't been able to host our themes OTA (Over The Air). We have tried calling GoDaddy tech support but they are of no help. Our .htaccess file is located in the directory where our themes are, but the link only opens a text document (and sometimes a 500 internal server error). This is what our .htaccess files reads:

We have also tried just having this in the .htaccess with no luck:

AddType text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad
AddType application/vnd.rim.cod cod
AddType application/java-archive jar
AddType audio/adpcm adp

We are on an apache server and we know of other people who host their OTA files with GoDaddy without a problem. Does anyone have any ideas? What are we doing wrong? We have read other threads regarding people having trouble setting up OTA downloading, but no one really says what helped them solve the problem. Thank you in advance for any help you have to offer.

I just got off the phone with Godaddy for about the 7th time and they say the problem is that the syntax for the mime types is incorrect... Any other ideas anyone? How would we go about changing this? This is getting obnoxious. Their support is full of people who are clueless about anything that is not a "common" question.

Try Namecheap. GoDaddy are not the best IMO.

Thanks for the tip. However, OTA's seem to be working now (Can someone confirm? ThemeBerry Bold). Unfortunately, we can't offer any insight to people who may experience this problem down the road because we don't have a clue HOW it was fixed...

Changes made to an existing .htaccess file will be seen immediately. When a new .htaccess file is created or an existing .htaccess file is deleted, however, these changes will not be seen until the htaccess cache is cleared. This occurs every hour.

This help file was on the godaddy site for PHP files so I'm sure it applies to all of thier listings for this file type.
