On my 7290 I did it when there was a problem, so about every 3-4 months. On my 8100 I will do the soft reset once a week.

My mother told me that if I kept pulling my battery I would go blind. So I'm just going to do it until I need glasses.

me too, didn't have to do it ever since i had my 8800.
maybe add a vote option "never"?
