Default Tethering the Curve

Please Login to Remove!

I was wondering if anyone has the directions/instructions on how to set up the tethering for the Curve with Windows Vista? Tried going through BlackBerry and using their support, but it is mainly for Windows XP. Didn't know if there are any differences. Thanks.

Hi John and Janet2802:
The article referred by John was very well written and thorough. However, I tried it but got repeated error 734. Checking other FAQ on the Forum and the following two steps got my 8310 tethered:

1. AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","wap.cingular" for the initialization command string, as recommended by krisnowicki;
2. as suggested by dankarlinski, resend your service book by clicking your Blackberry Options > advanced options > host routing table. > HIT MENU, then register

FYI - You could try your providers site for an app install that does this for you.

I am with Rogers and they have a software called Rogers Connection Manager.. download, install and it's set up

Here's the link if anyone on Rogers wants it....

Are you charged for usage when you do this?

Tethering is an additional $30.00. I've gotten away with tethering for sometime, but do so very sparingly as it is all logged.

Who knows one day I may get an unexpected bill from AT&T.
