Default how to wipe the BB if USB port is not working

Please Login to Remove!

hi, I have a tough one.

My usb port is not working, but I managed to sync the BB with outlook via bluetooth.

Now the time came to send in the device for repair (did not see this one coming) and I want to wipe BB first.

any ideas on how to do it (preferably without deleting all the info from outlook and then syncing outlook->BB)

thank you all for the answers!

I am sorry I forgot to write here that trackerball does not work down. It works fine left, right and up.

that is why I wanted to wipe it in a non classical way.

You can use the keyboard to navigate menus if your trackwheel is busted.

on your home screen, hit o for options(enter), then S for security(enter) (if there are other options that start with S, just keep hitting S -it will scroll through the S choices), then G for General Settings(enter), then hit menu key, then hit W for wipe handheld(enter).

Sorry, go to the phone app, hit menu, then using the same letter selection method, go to options, then turn off dial from home screen.

thank you very much!!!

but I have dial from home screen set up on my device.

I can press the green button from home screen->menu button->O but the problem is that there I can only choose the first item in the list (general settings)

how do I scroll in that menu? I need to get to smart dialing if I remember correctly and pressing "S" does nothing.

I thing we are on the right track here, but the last step is difficult.

You can't disable "Dial From Home Screen" on a Suretype keyboard.

Hit the Menu key (to the left of the non working trackball).
Now follow the instructions from KJJs earlier thread:

hit o for options(enter), then S for security(enter) (if there are other options that start with S, just keep hitting S -it will scroll through the S choices), then G for General Settings(enter), then hit menu key, then hit W for wipe handheld(enter).

thank you!

I solved it other way: I hid all the items from the main screen one by one until I got to options icon and then followed your suggestion.
