Default Annoying Google Maps Message

Please Login to Remove!

I searched for this and could not find any mention. I keep getting this popup message in Google Maps when I run it:
"The Google Maps application requires Bluetooth to be enabled. Enable Bluetooth?"

I was playing with the Bluetooth puck that belongs to a friend, but otherwise I don't have my own GPS puck (yet). So usually, I am using Google Maps without GPS. However, in order to use my friend's GPS, I had to configure it and turn it on through Google Maps, and it worked great. Since then, and after I've returned the puck to my friend, it appears that from now on, Google Maps must have Bluetooth turned on regardless of whether there is a GPS puck in range. This is kind of annoying because I often turn Bluetooth off to conserve on battery but I still want to use Google Maps.

Outside of uninstalling/reinstalling the app, does anyone know how to get around this?

Go into Applications > Setup Bluetooth and delete the device from your paired devices.

Just an idea.

Wirelessly posted (7100t: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.1)

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried this and it didn't solve the problem. It still asks me to turn on Bluetooth.

You may try uninstalling the application, then loading the latest version (1.5.4).

I am already using v1.5.4.

I also already know that uninstalling and reinstalling does remove the issue, but not the problem. If I were to try someone else's GPS again, I would have to uninstall/reinstall again. I'm trying to avoid that cycle, since any recent addresses used are always lost in that process.

Thanks.

It sounds like a bug in the application to me. Why don't you check the help forums for the Google apps? There's bound to be something there.
