Hi,
I did a search and checked on some of the product web sites (ascendo, webis, splash) but couldn't find information about how the programs handle expiration dates for records. I downloaded ascendo data vault since that seemed to have the most recommendations but it doesn't look like the feature I want is available.
I'm looking for a password manager where a reminder will come up when a record's expiration date passes or is close. I don't care if the reminder works only with the program open. Any ideas?
Interesting question, but I'm not sure what you mean by expiration dates for records. I have passwords that expire for my employer's OWA and online apps, but that's all I can think of.
Driver's license, credit cards templates have a field for an expiration date but none of the programs seem to do anything with it. Specifically, the MetroCard for Bus/Subway in NYC has an expiration date and that's really why I'd like a reminder.
Interesting. I haven't seen any apps that would do that (not that I've looked in particular), but I can see how it would be really handy. Sometimes I have put reminders in Outlook for expiration dates.
What about ToDoMatrix, if you are still using that?
A calendar reminder works best for me. I recently set one to remind me to make ortho appointments for the kids in October. I just set it for the last day in September and then I can (mostly) forget it until that little miracle on my hip cues me.

I don't know if any of these will remind you when the expiration dates near, but you might want to cull through them and see.
