Does anyone with a 7105t have the "Compose SMS" option when attempting to generate a text message?

The problem I have is I need to send a "SMS" text message, NOT a MMS message. I do a lot of international text messaging and not all carriers support MMS messaging (i.e. multimedia, pictures messages), but all of them do support SMS messaging (generic text messages).

After talking with T-Mobile Blackberry Support, they said I should have 3 compose options present in the messaging menu:

1) Compose E-mail
2) Compose SMS
3) Compose MMS

I DO NOT have the "Compose SMS" option. They had me wipe my device and reload the latest T-mobile Blackberry Software (4.0.2.49). This DID NOT fix the problem. They are stumped. Great.

I have tried numerous times to send a text message using the MMS option and it transmits fine (no red "X" indicating T-mobile relay server problems), but the message never arrives to the recipient. I'm almost 100% positive its because its being sent as "MMS" instead of "SMS".

I can recieve international SMS messages just fine.
I can send MMS message just fine to recipients inside the U.S.

T-mobile said my phone is provisioned correctly and all the settings are right on my phone.

As a test, I swapped my SIM out of my 7105t and back into my prior cell phone, Motorola v600 (non-blackberry), and I was able to send international SMS text messages and the message arrived to their recipients with no problems. That says it all, no?

It sure does seem to be a problem with the lack of "Compose SMS" option within the T-mobile Blackberry software. They appear to only allow MMS messages to be sent.

Anyone have the "Compose SMS" on their 7100 series (T-mobile or otherwise)????

Any thoughts? Anyone have this same problem? HELP!!!!!!

I have it, my 7105t is 3 weeks old.
I have the following
Compose Email
Compose PIN
Pleace Call
Compose SMS
Compose MMS

I also have SMS (Username) when in the phone book.

I am not using a BES and this is a personal account (not business).

I would guess that you are on a corporate BES. If so, they may have the policies enabled to disable SMS and PIN since you are not seeing either. To check if you have a policy loaded go to Tools > Settings > Security.

That was it!!! I had my company remove me from this No-SMS policy on our Blackberry Enterprise Server (they never knew why it was there in the first place) and now I can SMS. Thanks a lot for the assistance. Gotta love these forums.
