Last week I had a 4-day business trip that took me from Eastern time zone to Mountain. My Torch was running OS 6.0.0.161. I have BES and personal email along with a number of applications, including Facebook, WeatherBerry, and Kindle. The device was turned on and off several times during the trip. If there was a data issue I was not aware of it. The only problem I had during the time was that someone sent some emails with large attachments that filled up my work mailbox. That prevented my sending any BES email. Because of the way our company email is configured I was unable to fix that from my Blackberry. When I returned to the office I cleaned out my Outlook mailbox and that was fixed.
On Tuesday I installed the 6.0.0.214 Beta OS. So far that seems to be working OK, also.

This may just mean that I am not hitting the trigger that causes the data lockup.

Same issue again here...as of today..I am running .161 on my device.

To bad RIM does not publish a compatibility list, it may help a lot.
Might be nice if the developers would send their compatable list to RIM so RIM would know. testing 10,000+ apps is no easy task.

I have not had time to read all the post, but everytime I take a picture with my Torch and send it by e-mail to a pc, the picture received is sideways or upside down. Anyone else encountered this problem?

I am not so sure the loss of data is isolated to just applications. My second 9800 in one week and now had ta do 2 security wipes in less than a week...updated my device to OS .214 today,I will see how that goes, but from the sounds of things the update didn't fix the problem. I am surprised that more people have not reported this issue on here...its getting to be very annoying!! if nothing is fixed soon this 9800 will end up at the refurbish center!

You are holding it wrong when taking the picture.
the orientation is based on how you hold it.

its the same way on a storm as well.

I made the mistake and thought it was safe to go back in the water w/.214,loaded up Facebook and it hit me...unfortunate battery pull would not do the trick ,I am thinking the best fix is under the tire of a 2 1/2 ton truck!

That is when my event occurred - going from Eastern to Central. No problems coming back to Eastern.

Did a backup, security wipe, restore. All looked good. ... Until a reboot. Sigh

Once again... Security wipe, restore ... from aback up I did several days ago... reboot.. All still good. EA processed... still ok... reset.... So far so good. We'll see how long it lasts.

Not a happy camper. :(

My problem became worse after installing .214 after installing facebook,I lost data,again...battery was drawing down faster than normal..did a battery pull,no data...security wipe, still no data... downgraded back to .161 nada....I brushed the ole dust off the Jl_Cmder...Wiped the device,(P.S. this is a last resort) 3 and half hours later .141 installed... booted up and all is good for now!

Possible non compatible apps so far..
*FaceBook
*Weatherbug

possibility wifi change to 3G and or Edge, and time zones

Ok....after doing a JL_Cmder wipe, installed OS.141, worked good..but I am not satisfied with .141 I really liked .214 big improvements overall...so I installed it... I have not installed any apps with the exception of google maps.....

fingers crossed, 6.0.0.214 has been running smooth without a hitch today..waiting for a solution real soon...I would like to load some of my apps like BBM and FB and the weather apps...also I am not using wifi.

Allow Security Timer Reset disconnected the device from the BB network. Unable to access net did a security wipe to solve. This problem came up with Googlemaps and advance call blocker.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue,
I am stuck in a loop. I am getting "Application Permissions - The application Google Maps is attempting to reset the security timer." with ALLOW/DENY
I selected "DENY", the permission box keeps popping back up.....I selected dont ask and DENY,still popped back...finally I selected "ALLOW" and it went away..but my BIS went south also...did a Security Wipe, reinstalled from backup..went to options edit permissions set interactions communication>security timer reset from prompt to deny saved.

I also disabled the APN

Ive been plagued with BIS tanking ever since this thread started,I have done a number of security wipes which is getting very old to say the least!
also updated to .225 still problems...

Since doing these changes the BIS drop off has stopped...[three days now]
I have now installed the apps that I have suspected as problem child's...fingers crossed..

Anyone else experience this same problem?
