Sounds like we will need a new forum as well as the "Clamshell series" haha

Never liked clamshell phones but this one is particularly ugly.
Hello and welcome to last week.

Wow....I am foaming at the mouth...
But if you live in the states and your carrier is CDMA based (like me) we'll be waiting quite a bit of time to get our hand on one of these...

Damn you Sprint!!!

My first thought when I saw that was 'wow, that's kinda cool'. My 2nd thought was 'no way would I want to deploy those at work'. I have users who drop their devices in water, bounce them off the parking lot, and even slam them in doors.

A flip phone is just asking for MORE trouble.

But we'll see.....I hated the trackballs when the Pearl first came out...now I wouldn't ever go back to a 'wheeled' device.

I would want to see one in person before I pass judgement. I carried flip phones for years before I switched to Blackberries, but have gotten to like an exposed keypad.

If it gives more screen real estate that will always be a plus now.

I saw a Law and Order episode where they were able to "enhance a picture" and get a guy's finger prints... this guy better be careful, because I'm sure RIM has the same software.

If you look closely, his reflection is in the screen.
I am positive Kim Possible could enhance it well enough to convict.

LMFAO!! I'm with you on this one. I would never go back to a flip phone!

However the outer screen has GOT to GO! put a larger OLED color in there to save battery life, and allow a mini Zen theme to display events, missed calls, profile in use, current song playing as a scrollable menu, and the ability for users to control the music playback (since no remote controll or allow A2DP/A2DVP control over BT as well). Also allow users to click on a menu key to see current playlist, scroll through it and to view pictures (not video though). Imagine being in a board room ... press 2 buttons 1st once, the second no more than 3 clicks and that little clamshell, while closed, the end user can glance down under the desk and see that perfect photo of their kid and bring an INSTANT smile to their face and get them BACK into the game ready to absorb that board room lecture/presentation ;).

Yeah RIM is definately going to increase another 3.5 million first mth this is released. I can see Madonna upgrading to this in a heartbeat!

i love ur positivity and enthusiasim!!!

i think (if its not too expensive) it would be good as a start up blackberry (def for younger, 1st time owners) sort of how i feel about the Pearl.

this is kind of the void i see it filling. Flip phones (if you take them all into account) are priced much cheaper than current BBs. If this sits as an entry level consumer device, i can see it making HUGE sales. Think of a launch price of $25-$55 with contract. How many consumers out there that dont want to shell out $200 for a phone would get it?

i am just praying that the upgrade price for tmo isnt bad, cause i want it.

i have the 8320, but i am also a huge fan of the pearl, because i had tha tbefore i got my curve.

but i love flip phones, even the big samsung ones from at&t because they are so efficient and useful...

a flip phone that is a blackberry, that just has to = sickness.

i am actually excited.

and if it turns out to be a false rumor, i am going to crap in my pants.
