toofar, if the games' maker emailed you the ALX file, where did you put it? find the ALX file with your BB Desktop Manager after opening Application Loader, click ADD.

Do this with the ALX file. If its on the desktop, you should be able to find it by clicking add, then the desktop manager will seach for any extensions applical for a download. In this caseit will see the game and it should be easy from there.
J, I'm wondering if there is a way to recreate the problem he's having.

Then all I can suggest is make sure the device is connected and working. If not, troubleshoot it. I'm sorry. You may need to check your memory. If all else fails, wait are you BES or BIS?

Somewhat, I'm not BES, so I'm limited in this area. From what I've picked up is about group policy setting for downloading and installing third party applications.
John Clark, your BES, does that sound right?

toofar, the two issues are probably not related, but if you are on BES (and it sounds like you are) there COULD be some IT Policy disallowing your from loading some third party softwares to your device. You can't (or rather, don't want to) get around that IF that is the issue.
Now, back to the issue at hand... if your ALX file is on your desktop--where is/are the other files associated with the TexasHoldem Game? There should be a *.cod file to go with the ALX file. The ALX file, I believe, tells your App Loader to look for the COD file in the same directory. If they are not in the same directory, no load.
Somebody confirm this for me... just guessing here.
And, toofar.. Birmingham here. Welcome to the BB Forums. Good luck.

J, your right in that a cod file is use, forgot that detail since I use ota more. However, if IT policy is preventing this, its possible that the cod file was prevented from downloading as well.

Trying to sync calendar via bluetooth from Pocket PC to Blackberry
I had a Motorola Q with Pocket PC and have recently bought the Blackberry 8703e. Is there a way to use Bluetooth to sync the calendar events from the Q into the Blackberry?

Hey, one reason is what is preventing you from getting mp3 files from the DM is your version. No doubt you have something under 4.2.0.-whatever. If you have some sort of 4.1x OS, the Desktop Manager will stop the transfer. Your javaloader.ide is your best bet.

Then your server is preventing this from happening. Can you change if your firewall is enabled or not. Otherwise, ask your IT dude to push a 24 hour full allow permission. If that is a smart thing to suggest. If you can change the firewall disable it. Restart and try again.
