Default Blackberry bold 9000 dead?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, my bb is dead. The last thing I saw was a white screen. Since when I haven't been able to switch it on. I bought a new battery - nothing. I installed the desktop manager and tried to connect via jl_cmder - and get a message - informing me that it was unable to open port. Any ideas what I can do???

Many thanks.....

Plug it into a wall charger. What happens?

Also, what happened right before it died? Did you just add/delete any apps or anything?

What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

Make sure you're connecting directly to a pc through USB, not through a hub or peripheral device (some keyboards have USB ports on them).

So I tried your suggestion - thanks. It does initially connect - but then the red light goes off - and wherever I am in the process - connecting or inputting my pw - the connection is lost (the red light goes off)......

Have you tried ignoring that red light and just letting the process run?

I have tried all these things. It takes me to the screen device application selection but i get the message saying the blackberry desktop software does not have the blackberry device software for the device connected to the computer (being my 9000). I have tried installing the most recent Desktop manager and just installing the one that came with my bold. I have also tried downloading the most recent OS for the 9000 and still no luck.

If you can shed any light it would be much appreciated. I am reverting from my 9700 back to this 9000 if it will work as my screen for the 9700 cut out yesterday mid text. I have determined to research its most likely the wiring from the screen but I have no desire to intent to spend another cent fixing blackberries.
