I have a 7100g with Cingular and lets just say I'm getting a bit tired of paying nearly as much for minutes as I do for "services" that don't do me much good. ;)

I would prefer to have BES/MDS services from what I am reading but, so far the sales people at Link2Exchange and MailStreet havn't been able to tell me what I need from Cingular to use their services.

I'll I've gotten thus far is "You need a Blackberry enabled wireless plan."

That tells me nothing.

Cingular's customer service is beyond clueless too so asking them won't do any good.

Help?

You simply need the $45/month unlimited blackberry plan.

As I understand it, BES/MDS hosting allows a Blackberry to work on non-BB enabled networks. Would another data plan allow the BB to work with BES/MDS services without the $45 per month plan?

No. Blackberrys can only work on the Blackberry Network (APN = blackberry.net). What MDS does is provice a gateway to the outside for 3rd Party applications.
