After I installed the new OS, I saw that under Options > Languages I can easily change my whole phone language into English or Chinese. I was wondering why doesn't Korean or Japanese show up? Isnt this a "East Asian" version OS? How can I change it to Japanese or Korean? Thanks

Thanks. I installed "BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.174 (EastAsia) Package Version: 4.5.0.174" by following Raptor464's post. Installation went smoothly. Things work well as I can read emails in Chinese and input Chinese.

One problem I noticed is that when I tried to send or receive text messages in Chinese, nothing happens. Basically, when someone sends an SMS in Chinese, my 8100 doesn't get it. When I try to send someone an SMS with Chinese characters in it, the intended recipient can't receive it.

Any suggestions on why this is happening? I also noticed that the version displayed in "Options>About" v4.5.0.124 (Platform 2.7.0.92) even though I installed v4.5.0.174 (note the difference .124 and .174).

Thank you!

By the way, my carrier is T-Mobile. It's really strange. Someone sent me a Chinese SMS from China and my 8100 got it. I was able to text back as well. But when I used my iPhone from AT&T to text Chinese to my 8100, the message just got lost. Neither can I send a Chinese text from my 8100 to iPhone.

Question

Okay, so I made the update to the OS last night to 4.5. I have T-mo and everything seemed to go smoothly... everything seems super slow right now and the hour glass is very prevalent. Any recommendations? This is my wife's work phone... need to make sure i have it right by AM.

Okay, so after navigating most things the hour glass seemed to speed up and it is faster now.

I d/loaded disco ball as well.

Will install the app store today.

MY NEW PROBLEM: After updating the OS it appears a lot of my wifes settings were erased. When she goes into work, will she have any issues synching AND will her work email settings be loaded back to her phone when it does sync or will these have to be entered again seperately.

I ask because she, nor I, know how to enter her work email settings. Hope this OS is worth it. Thanks for the help guys!
