Default firmware?

I just got my 7100t, should I update the firmware?

Are there any advantages to upgrading to the current software?

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Probably not right now, enjoy your BlackBerry as it is and in a couple months once you are familar with it you might find some reason or improvement an upgraded OS could bring you. I had the 7100 for a couple of years and then my wife used it another year--its a good solid model you will enjoy.

Thanks, I figured I would ask. Sometimes like with my mp3 player new firmware brings new features and such.

What firmware is installed on it now? If it's 4.0 then an update would add a few features. However, 4.1 slows the 7100t down a little. As JS says, if it's working fine, no need to mess with it.

I believe it's running 4.1

Navigate to the Options icon (the wrench, normally). Click on it and then go to ABOUT and click on it. That's where you find the version numbers of your device's software and firmware.
