Am disappointed that AIM new incoming message does not appear in Messages list like BB Messenger and Windows Live Messenger does for new incoming messages. I would like to use both BB Messenger and Windows Live Messenger shortcut keys. Is there a way to hack the shortcut keys and reassign to another one?

The curve is now available for device selection on my.t-mobile.com all you people with problems with your service books please make sure you have logged into the site and changed your device.

Is there anyone out there with an 8320, that HAS changed the device on my.t-mobile.com, they have a DATA feature, had their service books resent, and still can NOT get on AIM or other messaging clients?

Finally got the aim to work, I am disapointed with the 30 buddy limit, is there a way to hack it, actually, is there a way to edit the 30 buddies you want to appear on the buddy list?

Yes, me. Not a big user of AIM, but I'd still like to get it to work.

To edit the 30 buddies you have to use the aim client on a pc or mac. The buddy list group is called "mobile device".

I don't think it's sms, it has to be data because I am receiving and sending IM's instantly(i've tested it out). The Oz app was waaaayyyyyy slower. And that mobile device phone icon on the buddy list is displayed for sidekick users too...

I would like it to be data, but according to the rep at cs, he said it would be considered an sms message. He then convinced me to get an unlimited text plan because I would go over if I used the AIM.

Got tired of trying and not getting no where. Called T-Mo and the CS told me that my account wasn't set up for this feature (although I used Yahoo messenger a few times) and I was instrcuted to do the whole batt. pull thing and it now works. Is it just me or are the T-Mo reps extra sugary sweet? I was with T-Mo a few years back and while they were always nice, they were never this gooey!

Trust me, it is only using data on the 8320's built in messaging clients.

If you go into your "My Tmobile" account page on the site, and click ur current billing detail it'll tell u your mins used *obviously* and what you have left for txt msg's. when i had my 8100 i had 2 txt messages sent to me for my PW for my tmobile, and since i dont have a txt or sms package it read .30 is wut i owed for the 2 msg's but that was after i asked about the oz messanger app, and was told that used data so then i used jivetalk and never got any more msg charges while using that.

i know most people say it uses data, but is there any rock solid info regarding it? i guess i could do the same and just use it for a few messages and seee if i get charged, but why waste $ when i can get an answer here for free. =)

It's data on the 8320. Turn on the firewall for sms and you'll see they'll still work.

Wirelessly posted (8320: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

The gtalk, yahoo, aol and icq clients on the BB use data. The oz messenging clients use sms and data. And I am talking the stand alone clients. Put it this way the service books for these clients contain ip addresses and hrt tables. The oz messenger is a download the client service books.

John C, Why the 30 buddies 8320 users have to use the aim client on a Curve like exactly the regular cellphones have the limited 30 buddies aim client as well?
