Default (8320) .180 software being released on Monday 22nd October

Speaking with T-Mobile Blackberry support and they got a memo today about the release. They are addressing UMA issues and transfering settings from the Pearl to the Curve.

Deja Vu. Didn't you post this information last Friday.

In any event, last I heard it was being packaged up for distribution.

I posted that it was delayed from a launch earlier and now I know the launch date.

Last thing I will say about .180 is do not expect it to fix all of your UMA issues.

I hope they have a newer version to release on Monday.

Lots of talk about .175 fixing a whole lot of things with respect to UMA and WiFi speed in general. Are you implying that .180 won't even be as good as that .175 international release?!?

I would never expect it to fix everything, but I was seriously considering doing the .175 update over the weekend and now I'm thinking I should just wait for the "official" .180 release on Monday....

Opinions?

If you can wait for .180 (Monday? fine) then wait. .172 has fixed problems for people. .180 *should* build on that. We hope.

Is there a release doc that lists what's been fixed?

The rep I spoke to said that the memo addressed what was going to be fixed. I didn't have time to write it down but it is going to fix something with the certificates when people upgrade from a pearl to a Curve (restore process) and the rest of the updates had to do with UMA.

But the problem with the certificates has to do with the restore process.
Oh, never mind.

The UMA fixes, they wouldn't be addressing dropped calls when transferring from UMA to EDGE would they?

I am thinking to fix the problem with the desktop manager switch device wizard or the complete restore of another model's backup will have to be fixed with a desktop manager update..

And it looks like DM 4.3 is near release....

I sure hope so because I am tires of people saying that the two cannot be used together because they both are at 2.4ghz. If that is the case then I was sold a defective product that doesn't work.

I bet it will be addressed with firmware so they can play together better.
