Default You Mail - Deleting Voice Messages

Please Login to Remove!

If I am using You Mail and delete the message can I also delete from my phone? It was my understanding that the message stayed in my phone itself.

The messages comes to your BB via email. So if you delete the email from your phone, it's still on the Youmail web site.

Thank you for responding. I may be a bit vague. If it goes to you mail then it wont go to my carrier?

If it does go to my carrier, how or do I need to get rid of it? I don't have long distance on my phone.

By the way, I like the smart greeting but it only uses first names.

I have only used the wav file that is emailed to by BB, I have never called the number to listen to the message before, but you can delete them from the web.

I don't fully understand, but you do a no answer busy transfer, so after a certain mout of rings the call goes to youmail and in turn you get an email with a voice file that you can liosten to on your BB.

If you delete the email the actual VM is still stored in your youmail account. You can log in to online and listen to the VMs or delete them pemanently. If you call the youmail line from your phone (long distance- dont think you want to do this.) you can delete the VMs by pressing 7 and it will be deleted from your account.

I think you can actually go to your deleted mail online and find old VMs.

...not sure if I answered your questions.

The VMs are never actually stored on your carriers VM service. They are re-directed to the youmail VM account. So you can't check your VM by dialing 1 from your phone. You have to dial the youmail service number to check your VM. But it is very simple. Youmail recognizes your cell number and directs you right to your VM messages. Another thing that I love is the fact the fact that when you set up your youmail VM message, there is no operator at the end of your voicemail message saying "press 1 for more options, press 2 to fax etc." I think that is so annoying!

It would be awesome if there was an application for this on the blackberry instead of using PIN/email. A visual voicemail style app would be neat.

I know there was another one out there...i forget the name....but using this service it would be nice!

"Stand alone app for blackberry": I don't believe so. It is just offered with the youmail service. The visal VM can be sent via email or text msg. It could be better, but atleast it's free. It is getting better.

So my mailbox for my actual phone will eventually be full?

or it never arrives there and stays with Voice Mail if I am reading correctly.

It never goes to your BB's voicemail, it resides on the internet and your email. When you log on you can see and delete your calls and voice mails in your history...
