I have a 7100r from Rogers and I am having similar problems which include poor sound quality on the other end. My main issue is poor sound quality from my bluetooth headset after the upgrade. Have been dealing with Rogers now for 6 weeks to no avail. The last conversation I had with them they calle RIM while I was on the line. The RIM contact said they have never had this issue reported!! RIM needs to acknowledge this issue and at least let their carriers know that they are working on a solution. I think we all need to contact RIM about this issue so that they can no longer deny its existence.

I had read some post about this in the past and thankd god that my users didn't have the "speaker issue". Well... I got a call today and aparrently I was wrong... now I have several users that are having this problem.

They notice the problem while on any call (to or from cell, landline), but they don't have a problem when using a BT headset.

Sounds like a mic problem to me.

I have contacted the provider and they are replacing the handsets.

We will see what happens.

Default 7100g

The mic on mine sucks balls. The sound quality is crap. It is running 4.0 or something. All I know is when you turn the volume up on the ear piece and there is background around the surrounding vacinity, then the caller barely hears you and hears a bunch of static/distortion. My old Nokia 3100 sounded better. I am now thinking of returning it and getting a Audiovox 5600.

No luv!!! from 7100!!

I too have the same problem with the 7100g. I just sent an email to RIM. How can they roll out a product and claim it works as a cell phone when no one can have even a short convesation on it? It has to make you wonder whether it was ever even tested. I'm not sure what to do... downgrading to a previous version seems like a half-ass solution...

If you are on tmo..go back to 3.8. It is a software issue that is known..it does not affect all markets and a fix is in the works.

Default For 7100g, upgrade to version 4.0.0.219

There is a SDR42153 - Previously, if using a 7290 in a voice call, you may have temporarily audio problem where the calling party could not hear your voice.

Found this in its release notes for 7290 + 7100g.
