Can the new Verizon 8703 be unlocked and used on Sprint's network?

I asked my friend who works at the cell Wireless Advocates kiosk at our local Costco and he said that the BB PIN/ESN is specific to the network and that you can't bring one device from one network (Verizon) to another (Sprint).

It boils down to the fact that sprint will not activate a ESN# that is not in their system.

Just order through sprint and away you go.

Yeah I am an idiot. I just checked and found that Sprint already has an 8703e. I thought it was only released for Verizon.
