I am thankful that BB FINALLY came out with an update for this ganky phone!

I loaded the update with no trouble and the ZEN theme is catchy!

Also, I noticed that they resolved the problem with the Network Time. It is no longer 25 hours in the future! Hopefully, this update will help with dropped calls too...but I won't bet on it.

Can't wait to start making some new tones!! I will share info later.

Questions? When I download the zen theme it has a .jad extension. What is that? How do i get it to work on my BB? I have dl alot of themes from mobile 41 with out issue but this one seems to be giving me trouble...

.JAD is a Java extension. I am kind of a newbie when it comes to BB, so it maybe something to do with your version of Java. It may have updated with the new version, but I don't know.

I download the ZEN theme with my BB browser and had no trouble at all by going to the link at knology.com mentioned in several earlier posts (Unfortnately, I can't post the link, because I have posted less than 10 times). I can mail the link to your BB if you like me too.

PLEASE NOTE: The ZEN Theme is "laggy" at first, but once it loads into memory it is smooth sailing. Some may find it "laggy" because fading effects are used in the theme.

the zen theme is quite nice, but i must admit that i'm in love with the dimension-today theme. having an outlook-ish today page is, well, i'm just giddy

mine did, but seems to be working properly now..
apparently i had people calling me this morning, but it never rang?!? had a few missed calls - odd. but now it works just fine..

I finally got that huge file downloaded. I updated my phone and it everything went perfect. I honestly haven't had any of the problems described above. It seems like the install was kind of a long process. All of my progams stayed on my phone. I now have the Zen theme, thanks to the easy to find ota link above. I put about 10 .wav files on my phone today. I used to have an i860, so I have a bunch of .wav files on my computer that I put on my i860 through MDJal before I got my blackberry.

So here's how you do it:
1) Go to "www . nextelelite . net" and browse the forums, i860 .wavs is a good start (Large variety and quanity of totally free .wavs)
2) Right click on the .wav file you want and save it to your PC,
3) Send a blank e-mail with the .wav file attached to your BlackBerry at "YOURNUMBER @ messaging . nextel . com"
4) When your BlackBerry receives the message and you open it, there is a button to play the song and the name of the song in the subject field of the e-mail
5) Then click the trackwheel it says "Save Ringtone"
6) Enjoy your new and improved ringtones

I just thought I'd share that so that it can hopefully be helpful to someone.

Again, this .wav stuff is nice, but how do we get it to play more than ~5 seconds of the .wav file when it rings?

not enough info, so i will try to answer your question

one of two issues:

1. call nextel and tell them you want to extend the amount of time your phone rings before it goes to voicemail

2. you are attempting to create ringtones and they're all to short because the files you are creating are too large. here's the deal with that:
a. the files must be 500kb or less
1. in order to achieve this you can use on of three different compressions: 16khz, 16bit mono; 16khz 8bit mono; 8khz, 8bit mono.
