It is fixed in the phone app, at least for me. I don't multitap anywhere else except for passwords.

It seems fixed in the initial dialing of the call, however if you need to enter letters after the call is connected, it still screws up! Arrrrrrrgggg.

I hate this bug.

Hi everyone. I am completely new to the blackberry world but so far so good. Today I installed this update without any problems but I noticed one thing that appears to be missing after: "Location Based Services" under the options menu. I want to enable the e911 service on the phone but I can not seem to figure it out and I would think it would be under that menu.

I have a T-Mobile 8100 so I did not have to install the modified LBS / Blackberry files as stated above... so my bb maps program works fine without them after. Did I make a mistake by not installing these files? Or is the activation for the e911 located in another place?

Thank you for any help you can provide!!

There is no built in GPS service on the Pearl. You have all there is.

If I'm not mistaken, T-Mobile USA does not offer any location based services for any handsets; T-Mobile UK does, so perhaps DE and other markets might as well. I have never gotten any LBS or Cell Broadcast features to work on any device I've had with T-Mobile USA.

Regarding E911 - AT&T and T-Mobile opted to use a version of Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) tech 'which determines a phone's position by measuring the time a call reaches "location measuring units" inside a cell phone network base station.' (1)

What this means is they install software at the base stations, no special software/features are needed on a handset for it to work; the backend system uses a rudimentary method of tower triangulation to determine your physical location on the planet.

All 3rd party apps will be backed up and restored during the process. Make sure you are using the latest version of Desktop manager. 4.2 SP2

Hi all, I am new here.

Never owned a smartphone before, though a few years ago I owned several pda's, Palm and Handspring, but tired of carrying bulky stuff in my pockets along with my cell phone. Was literally dying for a smartphone the past several months.

I just got my T-Mobile Pearl from Amazon 3 days ago and love it so far. It was basically free with a 2 year contract with a $50 MIR! Unbelievable, I dumped my Verizon contract like a hot potato since they wanted a $125 deposit for me to assume liability of the contract another sponsored for me and their customer service was repeatedly atrocious. ATT wanted a $750 deposit the day before T-Mo accepted me for no deposit (sorry for that ramble, but I'm gushing over my good fortune).

Sooo, I'm wondering if it is worth it to upgrade the OS. I have Attention Deficit Disorder (the organizer and Calendar will be lifesavers) and complex tasks are several times more difficult for me to handle than the average bear.

So, unless there's a clear and compelling reason, I would rather not mess with it all.

Is it worth it?

I would recommend you leave it alone for now. If it's doing what you need it to do then I wouldn't worry about it.

Default Ugrading OS

First post so, sorry if it is a duplicate, but i have a couple of questions.
First, when upgrading os, do i need to do it in steps, or can i just go to the latest one.

Secondly, has anyone been able to get their Pearl to sync with a TomTom One v4? Just for speaker phone is fine if you can tell me how, but data is ideal.
And please not hit connect to my phone responses

Thanks.

Ryan

I'm prolly going to ask everytime a new OS is "created", but.....

Does this version support A2DP? John Clark stated in a previous conversation that it probably wouldn't be enabled until the 4.2.2.x OS...but my fingers are crossed...

Thanks!!!
