Default Sprint 8130 Ringtones

Please Login to Remove!

I'm sorry in advance if this post is duplicated but i searched and didn't find what i was looking for. I just got my pearl through sprint and im trying to download ringtones on it. Theres a place when you go online and it says ringtones. i clicked it and it said something about ringtone software...it's $20.00. why do i need to pay another 20 for software just to download ringtones...i downloaded music from the sprint music store earlier thinking that they were ringtones and they are not theyre just to listen to full length songs. so i really need some help with this...is there something im missing? are there free versions of any of this? Thanks.

You don't need any extra software to download and use ringtones. Most ringtones found online are simple 30 second clips of songs, or other sounds, in mp3 format.

Once you have downloaded the mp3 to your computer, you then need to transfer it to your phone. There are numerous ways to do this. You can either use Mass Storage mode if you have a miniSD card loaded in your Pearl (place mp3 in Music folder), you can transfer using the media manager included with the desktop manager software included with the phone, or you can use bluetooth and push the file to your phone.

There are threads on these processes if you need further help.

Good luck.

There are loads of web sites where you can download the ringtones over the air.

True, but I thought that might be tedious for a first time user. Plus, I usually prefer to have ringtones saved locally for safe keeping or if they need tweaking. Just thought it would be easier.

I think the main thing she is asking is can she download ringtones directly from Sprint, and the answer, to the best of my knowledge, is no. The only way I know of to download ringtones for the Pearl on Sprint is to buy the Ringtone Megaplex app for $19.99. To be honest though, that would be a total waste of money as you will only be able to get MIDI and polyphonic ringtones from Sprint for the Pearl. You're much better off just taking mp3 files and uploading them from your computer to your phone and setting them as ringtones that way.
