Default 8700c Purchase

Please Login to Remove!

I’m currently a Cingular customer and looking to buy a 8700c. I’m looking for some suggestions for a good online store? I originally ordered one from wirefly but canceled it after reading some really bad experience with them, I guess they don’t honor their rebates. I do qualify for a hardware upgrade through Cingular. Their online price is $250 with one mail in rebate or $150 refurb. Should I be worry about a refurb phone?

Thanks for any suggestion!

I did call a few stores and it's $350 with a $50 rebate so $300. The rebate looks to be a Cingular $50 visa card so it's not even a check! Sucks!

The 50 dollar visa card works anywhere like a credit card. not limited to Cingular. I have however been using it to pay my bill between the phone and accesorry rebate!

Thanks, I just ended up ordering the refurb. The online stores want new activations and questionable rebates. The refurb comes with a 1 year warranty so I'm not too worried. By then it'll be time for a new one anyway!

Thanks!

i find it still odd that the cingular web site still does not offer the 8700 again... where did you purchase your re furb and for how much? I'm debating between a new 8700g with tmboile for that 200 dollar deal or well now the option looks like refurb cing 8700 for a decent price...

Go to the top left Shop Cingular, Phones & PDA's, put your zip in when asked, all their devices should appear, then on the top select View BlackBerry. The 8700c's will appear. One refurb and on new.

I paid $150 for the refurb.

Sorry I'm not allowed to post URL's yet.

Did you say your refurb has a 1 year warranty? The Cingular site says they only have a 90 day warranty. That's the only thing keeping me from doing a refurb.

02fz1, how'd your refurb work out? What version of the OS was on it?

I'm holding out for the 7130c, but the low price on the refurb 8700 is very tempting.

That was a bad thing that Cingular did, but it seems that they saw the mistakes that they did nd brought them back up to the main screen. They thought that oenwould click on the device manufacturer and then one would see that they are available and they failed to put a notice about this on that page. Now all are back up.

Bad luck doesn't mean all refurbished products are junk. I've used several refurbished products in my life and they've all been great for me.

Yup I agree as I have been in the same situation many times. My -c is refurbished and it has been working fine. (I got the refurb. model when I warrantied my device few weeks back)
