Default WAP vs TCP/IP on Verizon and IMs

Please Login to Remove!

Forgive me if I missed a discussion on this in a sticky or other area. Also forgive me if this is a STUPID question...

I do a lot of traveling around the state that is outside Verizon's data plan area, but still have digital service for SMS, etc.

If I were to use something like IM+ WAP version, would I get IM+ service in those areas, or no? If not, then I should just get a TCP/IP based product (which ever one will stay connected!) and be without service in those areas.

It seems like if I can do SMSs, then there should be an IM product that would work there too.

Thanks -

Lee
