Am I supposed to have a different ALX file for Telstra to load properly here or what ?
Yes. Take a look again at steps 6-A and 7-A :
Quote:
6-A. TELSTRA: Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.1.0.309_P2.0.0.133 and rename BlackBerry.alx to BlackBerry.alx.old

7-A. TELSTRA: Download and extract the new Telstra BlackBerry.alx file.
This should be extracted to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.1.0.309_P2.0.0.133. Click here.
You'll have to go back and look at the actual instructions for the link...since I don't have 10 posts yet I can't post any links. :( But the link in 7-A is what you need...

Thanks Seattle18 and Jibi. This really was an easy upgrade that I really didn't want to do just for Zen. I can be added to the list of upgraders who say the volume issue AND the reception have improved. Probably all for naught since I expect to get the 8100c this week if it is released.

I'll qualify this by saying I have not read the 16 pages of posts, but I have been using the Zen theme for a long period of time now. Is there a way to take that theme and change the look of it? Additionally, I would prefer if I could have more than 5 apps on the home screen, but I love the hiding and organization of Zen. Thoughts?

There's a company with my BB which will require me to do a Security Wipe. Here's my scenario, so please let me know what I should do.

1) My BB came with the stock Cingular software so when I wipe off the BB, will I lose the Bharti upgrade that I did?
2) Or if I perform the Restore function, will I be back to normal again?

Seattle18: I have run T-MO/BHARTI, on my cingular, and seem have funny way to organize. I hid some stuff that I don't need, then run Zen theme and show still there, but other solution to it is to move whatever you don't want in the home page, move it more than 5 icons, then after that you won't able to see it even in the menu.

Curious, which OS do you perfer the best? Telstra or Bharti?

thanks,

Default voicemail icon in zen?

Hi all,

I posted this question in the 8700 forum, but didn't receive any replies. Since it's related to the Zen theme and most people talking in this thread are using that theme i'm posting here.

My issue is that i do not get a voicemail icon or the missed call icon on the home screen when zen is set as my theme. If i use any other theme, then i do get these icons. The weird thing is that if i use the browser in the zen theme, then the voicemail icon and missed call icon show up at the top. As soon as i exit the browser, the icons disappear. This is making it very difficult for me to know when i have a missed call and voicemail.

Is everyone else here having this issue? I just received this blackberry from T-mobile and the OS listed is v4.1.0.346.

Thanks in advance.

Well i re-installed the Zen theme and now the problem is gone! It sucks how a brand new unit straight from the vendor can have such issues...

Thanks to this forum the problem is solved.

the .346 does not support the zen theme that's why.
