Default Deleted Email on handheld not reconciling on users Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a problem on a new BES server we just installed. Users delete e-mails on their handheld and it will not delete them in outlook. It will work the other way around (users delete e-mails on Outlook and it will delete from BB).

I have hard deletes turned on on the BES server, and I have made sure all users have the "delete on handheld and mailbox" option turned on, on their handhelds.

I've seen a lot of posts for the other way around, but nothing in regards to this way. Any ideas?

How long are you waiting to check for the deletions? Does it work if you delete something on in Outlook, and then do Reconcile Now on the BB (wait a minute or so before doing this)?

One way sync issues are often caused by CDO.dll mismatches. Does your BES and all Exchange server match?

This is a SBS 2003 Standard server, so BES and Exchange are running on the same box... professional software. Is it possible there are different versions running on the same box?

I am using the default settings for BES... even if we use reconcile now it still does not delete from outlook when deleted on the handheld.

Try this:

set your message options to wireless reconcile .. mailbox & handheld / On / Mailbox wins

now send yourself 2 messages .. subjects delete outlook / delete blackberry

wait for messages to deliver to both outlook & blackberry

on blackberry delete - delete blackberry msg
on outlook - delete outlook msg

message in outlook should MOVE to deleted folder
message on blackberry should remove from message list

forcing reconcile now only speeds up the move to the deleted folder

As this is a new install did you double double-check that you followed all the install pre-reqs (permission setting etc). I know little of SBS but logic says a step may have been missed or need re-doing.

Ah, there goes my next sugggestion ? I did think it might be perms but if you guys checked.... It might be worth checking yourself just in case though as one of my colleagues worked with TS the other week while I was away and TS totally missed the real cause, which I found when I got back (also perms related) .

I am tempted to say delete Desktop [CMIME] service book then resend sb from BES but I know this looks global. Might be worth it though....

Any other ideas? I'd like to double check security permissions just to make sure, and it sounds like theres a frequency for checking deleted items? Anyone know where that can be adjusted on the BES server?
