After installing this version everything seemes to work fine, the only "bug" if it is one is that after I recive a mail, the red led will light for a few minutes than it starts flash? Any one else with this problem?

ColorPearl causes this. Delete ColorPearl and install the new "BlingBall" app. There is a sticky thread at the top of this forum for it.

I'm still not able to download this for some reason. It always stops in the middle or someplace. I read somewhere in here that it may be because of IE, and to try to use Firefox or another browser. The problem is, right now, I don't have access to anything but IE (both libraries in my area use IE).
Any alternate ideas?

I got this message the last time I updated my os and just went ahead with the update. As far as I can remember, nothing untoward happened - at least, my phone still works!!

I'm currently downloading this update so we'll see what difference it makes

Update on upgrade : managed to download the new os from the bb site link on first page of this thread no probs. Not exactly the fastest d/l but steady and the file worked fine. Installation was ok, but I did it through DM rather than the loader app in the folder the .exe extracted to - was easier to follow and seemd more straightforward. A power outtage at home interrupted things somewhat - - and despite a fatal error from DM a second attempt was sucessful.
Hard to tell any major differences to the running of my pearl, so far everything is pretty much as it is - maybe a little faster?

I have an 8110 on AT&T. The 4.5.0. update does NOT work! It froze my phone completely. After 90 minutes with a BB Tech, he said they'd have to REPLACE my phone, which they did. I'm sticking w/4.3.0. until AT&T issues 4.5.0. and I know others with my model can update.

Are you sure you applied the right update? This is the 8100 thread, not 8110...

Wow, I never thought I'd be back here asking update questions! Anyway -

I've DLd this OS, AND I DLd Desktop manager 4.7...

I JUST got my replacement 8100 in the mail today (yeah I broke another one) and I had plugged in my old one to do the restore.
Plugged it in, it DID ask me to update, but I didn't want to since it's going back

NOW I plug in my new one.. nothing. I go into the update software, "No software updates needed"

It's installed, vendor file has been deleted. Any ideas?

-edit-
smart people fixed it for me! YAYYYY! :P
So now, I start the long long update

Just installed this ... one improvement I noticed is that the screen now obeys the backlight timeout when streaming audio (in prior versions the screen would stay lit until you stopped streaming). Now I can listen to Moodio and not kill the battery in seconds flat.

My fervent hope is that a not-too-far-in-the-future update will fix the problem of having to re-arrange and re-hide icons after every battery pull or reset...

I dont know if it's me, Tmobile, or what.. but I've had a TERRIBLE time with all of the 4.5+ software.

I get hourglasses from hell (ok I expect that at first)
I cant use ANY messengers...
I get two Tzones always (More if I resend service books)

I've been told to call and talk to tmobile about it, but does anyone know what to do? (I dislike CSRs)

I upgraded to the 4.5.0.110 from AT&T about a week ago (was using 4.2 from T-Mo), and I'm loving it. The only problem I'm having is loss of battery life, but I keep a wall and car chargers with me at all times.
I'm going to wait on doing another upgrade, because if I brick my Pearl, I'll kick myself. I hated my phone after I first got it, what with the Storm and Bold coming out soon after, but now I love it! The added functionability I'm finding with OS 4.5 is amazing!
One question, though... Is there a bigger risk with doing an upgrade for an overseas service provider?

What do you mean with "bigger risk" SuitUp451. I'm from Costa Rica and I don´t have any problem with my local carrier and the last update.
