One problem I had with Yahoo Go 2.0 was the address book sync... I have a lot of contacts, sometimes sync would fail, sometimes it wouldn't sync correctly or certain fields within a contact wouldn't sync correctly...

Does anyone know if version 3 fixes these problems?

Anyone having problems installing Yahoo Go? After downloading and running Yahoo Go v3, I get the following message "Sorry - no internet connection found." EDGE and WiFi are both working on my Blackberry. I have gone into the applications menu and manually changed the permissions for the Yahoo Go problem to allow all connection access. However, regardless of whether I am using the EDGE connection or a WiFi connection, I still get the same error message.

I am wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and has a fix for it. Thanks.

I got that the first time I tried starting it. I restarted ~ 5 minutes later (without any changes) and it was fine. I'd guess it's a Yahoo server busy situation.

Question PIN Locking Feature?

I just installed Yahoo Go! 3 and it said to make sure that my data on my phone was secure to use the pin locking feature. What is that? And how do I do it? I searched, but couldn't find an answer.

Thanks,

Wanda

Answering my own post... I downloaded the new version... I can't even find address book sync anymore -- did they remove it? No mention of it on the website either...

I just deleted this version, the same as I did with version 2.0. The app is bloated , slow and not as user friendly as the previous version.

I'll stick with the other apps I use that perform the same functions.

I looked for the upgrade earlier today and when I upgraded, I went from v2.49 to v2.69. Guess I'll try v3.0 now.

Hmmm...disappointing reviews so far.

Too bad since I use Yahoo! to monitor my stocks/mutual funds.

It installed on my phone today, since they released a more compatible version.

3.0 definitely looks better so far than 2.0. The new interface is good, but they have to give you more control on the text size. I would much rather have it appear smaller to fit in more content per screen.

However, as noted...its still slow...this needs to be addressed quickly Yahoo!

I uninstalled 3.0 as well, the "upgrade" is as craptastic as their webmail upgrade; all glitz and glamour but is slower and harder to use than the older one. I might not even install 2.0 again, but it's at least faster than 3.0 for sure. The 3.0 UI is terrible, a downgrade in usability from the 2.0 version.

Here's the link to send them feedback about Go - I just fired off a rather scathing (but nice and professional) letter regarding how much worse 3.0 is than 2.0 and all the problems with them both:

http://feedback.help.yahoo.com/feedb...e.yahoo.com/go

Help our cause, don't hurt it - be courteous with your feedback and professional, but don't pull any punches and tell them what you think. Writing full paragraphs and maybe giving examples is better than generic "it sucks" types of comments, let Yahoo! know that the BB community is displeased with it's product.

Acceptable speed (but not impressive), looks pretty, but too big (almost 1 MB!), doesn't use standard BB keys (Back key doesn't take you back! and BB key doesn't give options, etc.) - felt like an app developed for any device, rather than a BB application.

Uninstalled...will wait to see how this ends up, but at this point didn't see anything in it for me that justified the space.

I downloaded Go! and quite like it. However, there's one major problem I have with the app: I don't have any clue which connection method it uses.

I have a blackberry data plan that only contains 5mb of data volume (my provider doesn't offer anything else). However, I have an additional unlimited data plan that only covers TCP / HTTP traffic. As far as I can tell, there's no way of configuring Yahoo Go! to use TCP instead of BIS, right? (as a matter of fact, there's no way to configure Yahoo Go! at all - couldn't find any GPS settings either).
If Go! is only able to use BIS, I won't be able to use it (for obvious reasons).

The problem isn't specific to Yahoo Go! - a few other apps also can't be set to use different connection methods (such as Google Maps). I think this is highly annoying... I'm aware that most US users have unlimited BB plans but outside of the US most providers (Rogers Canada, most European providers etc.) clearly distinguish between BIS/BES traffic and HTTP because they have to pay RIM for the former but not the latter.
