... I still have the "new message(s)" icon on my home screen, from two unchecked VM's, before I made the switch. What do I do to get rid of the icon, now? Battery pull doesn't do it, and since my old voicemail box is gone, there's no apparent way to delete these messages.

Side note: It would have been NICE to know before hand, that any new messages and/or saved messages in your previous mailbox would NOT be forwarded to Youmail, and they'd be inaccessible (presumably, gone for good)!

Actually, I discovered the solution to my problem.

Calling your old voicemail directly, doesn't work. The call will be forwarded to Youmail (since you use your own mobil# with Verizon). I turned the call forwarding off (*73), accessed my Verizon VM, then used the activation# (*7117142043114) to turn back on forwarding to Youmail.

Problem solved!
