Default Switching from iPhone to BB, *set-up questions...

Please Login to Remove!

I switched from BB to iPhone back in June. And now I am switching back to BB (9700). Can anyone give me some quick steps on how to make the switch and get my BB up and running? I back-up all my contacts and calenders to google, so I can sync them to my new BB. What about my bookmarks? Pictures? *How do I get all my old yahoo emails into the BB inbox? Anything else I should look out for?

I went to AT&T's BIS website to sign into my account and go this message...

"Cannot login, your BIS account is suspended or decativated, please contact your wireless at*1-800-331-0500."

I am assuming that once I add the BIS data plan to the 9700, I will be able to access the BIS website?

No can do.

Somehow get them from the iPhone to your PC, and then copy them directly to the microSD card (into the pictures folder) which you'll use in the BlackBerry.

You can't.

You need a BB data plan to set up email and BIS. Most likely, your old BIS account and the old carrier supplied email address is lost and gone forever. Not sure how long ATT retains that data, but worth asking about as it could still be available.

Pictures you will need to move to your PC and then add to the SD card on the BB. No easy way that I know of to xfer from the iPhone to the BB. Not sure about bookmarks.

I doubt the old Yahoo mail can be transferred either. You may have to send then to yourself one by one.

Thanks for the quick responses.

So, basically, I can pull the SIM card out of my iPhone, drop it into the BB and call to add the BB data plan and I am good to go?

If I do remember correctly, I had to forward my yahoo emails to my BB device. No big deal.

I hope I am here to stay

Got my 9700, but I can't use it. Long story. I ordered one on Monday for $199 2 yr contract. Called back on Wednesday and actually got a similar deal, but no-commitment, so I ordered another device. Popped my SIM in the second device this afternoon and called customer care to add the BB data plan. They can't do it until I return the first device or I will be locked into a 2 yr contract. Oh well, I may have to wait until Saturday morning to return the first device to a COR store.

Of course the BB will have to be activated by the carrier and the service sent and a BIS account established. The carrier can do that for you.

But I don't want to active it until I return the 2 yr contract device or else I am locked in.

I'd just integrate it directly with BIS. IIRC Yahoo's email delivery is pretty quick with BIS and offers some reconciliation.
