I'm running a 7250 on Verizon with 4.0.2 freshly installed. Today I drove from NYC to Princeton, NJ to home and did not p/u EV-DO for a moment. Everything works fine, except my bluetooth. I am a heavy BT headset user and since the upgrade, after several hard boots, I can only connect using BT once and then I need to reboot. Anyone else using desktop 4.1? I read that there are some BT issues... maybe I need to downgrade the desktop manager?

Attachments work now. I'm impressed, now if only Telus would let us use the BB to its full potential.

This seems contrary to all I've ever read about the 7250. Could Verizon pull the chip prior to releasing it to the public?

Thank you for your contacting us with your concern. The blackberry 7250 is not Evdo capable. It will never be able to be Evdo capable because that would require a chip to be placed in the phone. Please contact our Customer Service at (800) 922-0204. You may also dial *611 from your cell phone, airtime free.

In closing, I hope that I have resolved your issue and addressed all of your questions. We appreciate your business. Thank you for using Verizon Wireless products and services.

I have desktop 4.1 installed on my machine and I have a 7250 with Verizon with an HS820 Motorola BT headset. I have no issues whatsoever with it.

Note: on my 7290 with Rogers, 4.0.2 changed how it handled MIDP applet fonts. on JMIRC the font size is somewhat smaller! (which is good..)

Where did you get 4.0.2 from Rogers? Their site lists 4.0.0.219 as "new."

I installed the new version for Telus 7520 and this is what I found.

YES the Bluetooth is a lot louder I can work outside talk and listen with no problems now, before the upgrade I could not use the Bluetooth because of background noise and ear volume to low.

I did notice that when you boot / re boot / or replace the battery the 7520 takes a lot longer to wake up. All you see is the hour glass working, today it took nearly an hour after swapping battery for my 7520 to come back to life!

Also, when you get that dreaded low battery alert QUICKLY plug in the charger OR you can wait up to 10 Minutes before the 7520 will let you turn on the radio portion (10 minutes feels like hours when you are expecting a call!)

Ok just looked at my Nextel with 4.0.2. I saw "Show my number" when I disabled it, it didn't display my phone number on the dialing screen. But I didn't have restrict my identity.

Just installed udate and it updated just fine except:
I have a Motorola HS810 bluetooth head set that now has no sound.
The call button works but there is no sound coming thru the headset.
I have deleted the original pairing and re paired the devices, but there is still no sound .
It worked fine before the update.
Does anyone have any ideas....

Thanks
Mark

Wirelessly posted (7250: BlackBerry7250/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

Bluetooth on my Logitech Mobile Freedom was unchanged after the update.

Regarding the update, I did notice that my phone stopped dialing "1" before numbers. I found a new setting in phone options "dial '1' for national calls?"

Browser also now allows me to visit secure websites (banking, etc).

When you go back in the browser, it now puts you at the same place in the page you were at--eliminates scrolling...

Overall voice quality hasn't changed much....although my callers say I sound "closer". This could very well be a coincidence...

Gerald,

i also noticed the same scenario, after it updated the OS, it took about an hour to get past the hour glass working.. man that was ridiculous.. anyone else notice this? weird thing was, i also upgraded the OS on a fresh new 7250 for an employee, and it had no issues.. could it be related to the application data/phone logs? that seems to be the only thing i can't rule out..

Choose your make and model of BB and it will show a new version of software 4.0.2 as opposed to 4.0.0.219

Anyone else notice this new version doesn't multitask well? If I run the browser, and ALT ESC into email, everything slows down to a crawl....most annoying.

I've got no answer to this one but have one similar. With a recently up-graded OS after pressing send on the handheld for a phonecall, you have to press the call button on the headset to have the unit dial out.

???? Anyone else?
