Hello All,

I have had my ATT 8100 for about 7 months now. 2 days ago whenever i pick up the phone i cannot hear the person on the other end and neither can they hear me. About 20 seconds afterwards they can hear me and I can hear them. We talk and then this "deadining" happens again on and off. I have a full signal from the edge network. This has happened to many calls and not one single individual.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there anything I can do to fix this aside from pulling the battery out and placing it back in again as this does not seem to have worked.

This is quite frustrating and has has happened to every single call since 2 days ago. Nothing seems to have changed with the blackberry that I know of (no new software, no downloads, etc)

Any help you can give me I greatly appreciate it.

Have you updated the OS to the most current? That's where I'd start. Check the stickies here in the 8100 forum for the most current OS for the 8100.

I cannot seem to find this on the stickies in this forum, well at least for the ATT version.

There is only one sticky for the 8100 device. Carrier doesn't matter. You can load any carrier's 8100 OS to any 8100. Instructions are there on how to do it.

that happened to my dad, he used speaker phone and then after that he couldn't hear anything through the speaker.
he had to get a new one, i think this is only a cingular thing.
