somebody post in this thread when it is official

I didn't order the 8700c from Amazon..... and now it sounds like I will have to get a 2 year contract w/ T-Mobile (instead of 1 year)? I should have ordered the 8700c!

Just found out that T-Mobile wont launch the two year contracts till early April, so if its really a big deal to you then you still can jump on the one year for a couple more weeks

You could always unlock an 8700c if you were really desperate

Thank you for taking the time to contact us at T-Mobile. My name is Remona and I understand you want to know when T-Mobile would launch the new Blackberry 8700. I am glad to assist you today.

At this time, we have no information as to when and if T-Mobile plans on offering this device. However, you can check our website www.t-mobile.com as we regularly update such information.

Sincerely,

Is there a way to change the case? ie - get a replacement shell and paint it?

Maybe Hyper is right. The know nothing telephone operators are clearly more informated that National Account Sales Reps. and Engineering managers.

This has gone way past silly into the land of ridiculous...

I agree, I pay no attention to that BS.

My problem is - can I get it before the 2 year contracts start??? It seems unlikely at this point.

I am on the last month of a Sprint 2 year contract - I really don't want to have another 2 year contract.

If I got a plan w/ T-Mobile now, could I get the phone later? Or would I have to pay full price.... I am trying to think of away around this problem, without having to get an 8700c and w/o having to wait until the 1st week of April and having to sign a 2 year contract.

If my wife gets a phone w/ T-Mobile, then I want to add a phone to her plan the next month, will I have to sign a 2 year contract?

EDIT:
I just called T-Mobile and they said I could get 2 'free' phones then return one within 30 days and upgrade to a BlackBerry.

The lady said she did not know any exact date for the 2 year contracts to start. Does anybody know when they will start???

Default Tmobile 8700

I talked to Tmobile Blackberry support today, he told me Cingular no longer had exclusive rights to the 8700 and that Tmobile would be getting it in the near future but he didn't know when. He also told me to keep checking the Tmobile website.

I still think it will be in April not a day earlier. While I was at the T Mo Store the store manager wanted to take a look at it as he uses the BB 7105 and wants the 8700. His response was as far as he knows that he needs to wait at least till middle to late April to get it

my rep just told me that it's now going to be April, although no specific date had been set by TMO.

I am about to throw my Sidekick out of a moving car. It's been rebooting itself CONSTANTLY. I'll probably have to do a warranty exchange, which will be all the better anyway because then I can eBay off a brand new sidekick once the 8700 debuts.

I'm about to pull my hair out with this thing; this is my 5th call to the wireless data group on TMo today.

Wait, so if it's April for corporate customers, what is it for retail?

I'll second that!!

I'm about to switch to T-Mobile and want to get the BB8700. I may have to carry on one extra month just to wait for it.
