I am in the process of transferring my users to our BES v5 Server. I am noticing those that have their devices turned off or out of range cause a hold up in the transporter tool.

Is there a way I can force the user to transfer to new server?

For most people that didn't have a their device online during the migration it would give a warning during the preview. Usually it said last IT policy pending. But I was still able to successfully migrate their accounts. After the migration it would say Switchservice pending in the details of the results.

Last time I tried it just seemed to hang up and keep attempting to access the device. It would not move on to the next device until that one was completed.

Also it is imperative that they convert because I will be making the current server the backup for the BES 5 failover.

Any suggestions?

Remove the offline users. Then reactivate those users when they come back online on the new BES.

Agree with above. If a user has No Status or Initializing just delete them. Instead of chasing them down you can have them call you when they want there Blackberry to work.

If there's no rush to migrate the users, just look out for their last contact time with the BES prior to starting the transport.
