Default 8830 faster than 8330?

Please Login to Remove!

Just wanted to know if it's me/my device or in general if the Curve is slower than the 8830. I have the exact same apps installed that was on my 8830 yet it seems slower or non-responsive with delays in pressing keys for functions. I do press "ALT L,G,L,G" frequently and always have but still not much of a difference.

Theoretically it should be faster, I believe I recall it has a faster processor. Why do you press Alt LGLG so often, just to see the log?

FINALLY! I'm not the only one. I too had an 8830 before this new Sprint CDMA 8330, and I've noticed that the 8330 is much slower, a latency if you will between the inputs you give it and what it actually shows on the screen. I have noticed that since I've done a battery pull, it seems to be normal. The real test though is when you're doing multiple things with the device. It still seems like it struggles when you're multitasking, much more so than the 8830.

So far so good though, and I'm keeping an eye on it. I just wanted to acknowledge that I've noticed the same issues.

i don't do it to see the logs, it is a way to clear up a little bit of memory if scrolling becomes delayed. It's been stated on this site.

i'll try the battery pull but yes i've noticed the same exact things you've mentioned and last I heard it's supposed to have a faster processor but doesn't act like it.

I also just changed from an 8830 on Sprint to an 8330 on Sprint and there is NO question...the 8330 is definitely more sluggish in my case. I have 40+ megs of memory free so I know it isn't that. There is a very noticeable delay between selecting an icon and something happening etc. I love the curve and wouldn't trade back but the delay was annoying for the first few days...kind of gotten used to it now though.

Same here just came from the Sprint 8830 and noticed the 8330 is a little lagy. I have also noticed the battery life is shorter than my 8830. My 8830 would drop half battery during the day my 8330 drops below that, granted I have only had it a week I assume the battery is still breaking in..

And I have around 45megs free my 8830 would always have like less than 20 free.

I just wanted to add an edit in that the 8330 browser is a heck of a lot faster than on the 8830.. And to me that makes up for all the other lag..
