Question 8830 Sprint

Please Login to Remove!

I had a couple of questions about this phone, can you use a simcard from a 7100i for this phone?

why is the 7100i listed under sprint contracts now?

and are the buttons on the 8830 plastic or rubberized?

Not sure about your sim card question...the 8830 uses a microSD card. The keys are a hard plastic...not like the soft rubber keys on the pearl.

You cannot use your Nextel 7100i SIM card in your SPrint 8830 since they are for 2 different networks (iDEN vs. CDMA). The SIM card in the 8830 is for roaming on GSM networks overseas.

The 7100i is listed under Sprint contracts now since they are one company. Our Nextel bill at work now comes under the Sprint name.

The buttons are plastic, not rubberized.

I have a brand new 7100i in the box but use the 8830 instead. they are day and night different.

The 8830 blows the 7100i away

lol, obviously they are, the 7100i is old school.

I guess I'll have to wait to the end of my contract. ;[
