Hello All,

I recently upgraded the software to the latest version on my 8900. After I did, all of the contacts that had been previously sorted by title, were sorted to either first or last name or company (I can specify which one of those three I wanted, but not title).

I've seen other threads complaining about the sorting under title and that they did NOT want to do this, but for me, I've actually listed contacts under specific titles in order to keep them in different categories, and when it was sorted by title, it was perfect. Now I WANT to sort by title but cannot figure out a way to do this. Is it not possible?

I've never seen that sorting manner as an option, you say yours did in the past? That would be news to me.

By Title, you mean like "Mr., Mrs., Dr."?

Yes, it sorted automatically in this manner before I upgraded the software. That's exactly right (Mr., Mrs., Dr., etc.). Only I put different titles there to sort contacts by category.

Is there another way to sort contacts by category so that they are all lumped together alphabetically and separated within their own categories? The only other way I was able to do this is actually change the first name to whatever category, put a dash, and then their first name, like this: FR - Clyde. But I don't want people's names to be listed with a category in front in my contacts list.

I also know about the filtering between business and personal contacts, but this is not what I want to do either.

Anyone know why it sorted this way to begin with and now it will not? If it was an option before, I don't understand why it wouldn't be anymore. Has no one else been able to sort this way ever? Am I the only one? Upgrading the software actually decreased the usability of my BB!

So no one here has any idea how to sort contacts by title? Really?

I have never see a BB sort by title.

bosko, your ideas on how to do it are the only ideas I know of... Purely sorting by title has not been an option in the past or currently.

I have the same issue in my BB, I sort evrything by title. I have to change my phone becuase a warranty issue and now all my contact can NOT be sort by tillte and it is a total mess. I have 1146 contacts.
