Is anyone having a problem converting videos and retaining original ratios? I convert to 480x320 with videora but that just changes the ratios and it looks really streched. I'd like to convert it to fit the 480x320 screen but retain original 16x9 ratios (resulting in black bars below and above video).

Yeah...i agree with you and recommend it.

I use VIDEORA Ipod Converter and it does an excellent job.

The device setting i use on it is IPOD (5th Generation)...and then just follow the normal step-by-step instructions in converting the movies.
It's about 4 steps.

easy, fairly quick, easy to load after, and the original movie quality transfers perfectly onto my bold.

good luck

I agree that Videora works great. have tried other solutions too such as DVDFab but ocassionally I get a movie that will make my Bold reboot itself everytime I fast forward. I haven't played with it enough to determine the root cause.

I have a Mac. I use MacTheRipper to Rip the DVD and Handbrake to convert to Size/FPS. Right now I have American History X and Goodfellas on my Bold.

Using AutoGK I managed to cinvert a video for the bold np but just wished to ask. Is there anyway by which to make the video full screen? Anyway to crop it so it doesn't stay in "widescreen" format?

Thanks!

I'm experimenting with several encoders now and have yet to playback a movie that doesn't have the audio out of sync with the video. I have been using H.264 to encode with so perhaps the Bold doest support this compression very well.

The device will reboot itself when trying to navigate (using the slider to go forward or backwards).

I've been using Videora quite happily for a while. However, since I somewhere around .216, I've had problems playing movies longer than 30 or 60 seconds. They now freeze and if I try to move forward to where I was previously (eg 30 minutes into the movie), it also freezes.

I never had this problem before around .216. I've even tried some movies that I watched successfully last Sep/Oct and they now freeze too. Could this be a bug in the more recent OS's?

Any DVD and Handbrake. The results are outstanding. I tried 5 different programs and they all sucked compared to Handbrake using the H.264 codec. Video quality was as good as speed racer.

I use DVD Fab for my Curve. It took about 45 minutes to convert "The Dark Knight". The playback is great.

Also do we know the MAX Micro-SD card that the BOLD works with - is it 16GB?

I personaly use AnyDVD and CloneDVD mobile to convert my movies and such to Mp4 format, just select the iphone because it uses the same video rez as the Bold, adjust the screen size you want and convert.

Speeds will vary on the speed of ur dvd burner and computer.

I have however just downloaded AVI files (South Park shows) and put them in the Bold and allowed the Roxio Media software to convert it for optimal viewing and it does a good job
