Default Back Cover is always loose after drop, what to buy?

Please Login to Remove!

After I dropped my blackberry I can tell by the damage that it hit right around the back cover clicker. No matter what OEM back case I buy its always loose. What should I buy from Cellular Accessories - BenQ-Siemens, LG, 3G, SonyEricsson, HTC, Panasonic, Alcatel, Microsoft, Motorola to replace to fix this issue? Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance!

You should get a new OEM battery cover latch with spring, if still having the same problem, get a bezel as well. Then you should able to solved the problem

I used a couple of pieces of double sided tape. Worked like a champ.

Do you have an 8703 or a 9000?

for the 9000 that would be the correct answer.

Quick fix. Where the metal part you dropped the Bold, use your finger nail to pry out that part of the metal ring a little bit and you should be able to reform it back to factory spec.

I just fixed mine like that since I dropped mine too.

Let me know if this works for you.

It is sad that RIM is dropping the ball lately as far as build quality goes...but that's how it goes with most manufacturers these days. They cut corners in things that matter to us...quality for our dollar, to prioritize things that matter most to them...bottom-line profit for them and their shareholders. Sad, but true.

The Bold's loose backplate reminds me of my 8800 & 8820 a while back. I had to put business cards in them also to keep the back covers from creaking and being loose...

i used double sided tape for the javelin. i had the same problem with my bold, after dropping it by accident. I now use a business card and it seems to work.

I did the same, nice healthy dent in the bezel screwed up the way the battery door latch lines up. Got a new bezel from cnn.cn (got a nifty new black trackball while i was at it). Figured it would be more cost effective than an insurance claim, though i did have to invalidate the warranty to take the thing apart.
