I recently bought a BlackBerry Torch 9800 and my carrier is AT&T. I have the 200MB data plan with unlimited wi fi. I connected my phone to my home wi fi as soon as I took it out of the box. I have only used my phone from the comfort of my home so far when it is connected to wi fi. I noticed today that all the data I have used has been charged to my plan rather than being free. I looked under service status to ensure that the wi fi has been the default for data. BlackBerry internet service and BlackBerry enterprise service are in fact both connected to wi fi. I am wondering if anyone can tell me why my data usage is being charged to my plan rather than being free when I have been solely using wi fi. I spoke to a tech person from AT&T and he told me to turn off data services so I was only using wi fi. I tried that and found out that with data services turned off you cannot use wi fi so that obviously did not work. Thank you in advance for your help.
P.S. I have been using Facebook and the AT&T app center
That's not the point. I'm not worried about my data plan. I want my phone to work correctly. My carrier says I get unlimited wi fi and it's obviously not working. If anyone has any technical support that would be appreciated.
